Arema FC has been busy in the transfer market right up until the final day of the BRI Liga 1 transfer window for the 2024/2025 season. Singo Edan has filled their quota of eight foreign players for the 2024/2025 season. Pablo Oliveira is the latest foreign player recruited by Arema FC. Additionally, Arema FC has a Brazilian coach and assistant coach. Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta has released many of their young players. The use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) is not new to BRI Liga 1 or Indonesian football in general. VAR was introduced during the Championship Series of the 2023/2024 season. However, for the 2024/2025 season, VAR will be used in all BRI Liga 1 matches. To maintain the VAR equipment at stadiums, there is a regulation imposing a fine of IDR 100 million for any damage caused by players or officials. Additionally, the home club is responsible for the security of the VAR equipment, with a penalty of IDR 500 million for any violations.

Bhayangkara FC is deeply disappointed with their performance in the 2023/2024 season, which saw them relegated from BRI Liga 1. As a result, The Guardians will compete in Liga 2 for the upcoming season. However, Bhayangkara FC is determined not to remain in the second tier of Indonesian football for long. The club is focused on a swift return to BRI Liga 1. To achieve this, they have been preparing seriously and have been in intense training since early June 2024. The squad for Liga 2 has been strengthened with the addition of players such as Ilija Spasojevic from Bali United and Andy Setyo from Persikabo 1973, both of whom have represented the Indonesian national team.

In addition, Bhayangkara FC has re-signed experienced senior player Ruben Sanadi, who has a proven track record of helping PSBS Biak secure promotion to Liga 1. The team has also retained several key players including Matias Mier, Junior Brandao, Dendy Sulistyawan, Putu Gede, Muhammad Hargianto, and Awan Setho. Matias Mier will continue to be the core of Bhayangkara FC’s midfield. The Uruguayan midfielder scored 23 goals and provided 14 assists in 46 Liga 1 appearances. Junior Brandao, who was a top scorer contender last season, contributed 16 goals and four assists in 30 matches after joining from Madura United in mid-2023/24. For the upcoming Liga 2 season, Bhayangkara FC will not have Radja Nainggolan, as his contract was not renewed. With these changes, Bhayangkara FC is well-positioned to secure a return to Liga 1, awaiting the tactical approach of coach Gomes de Oliveira, known for his extensive experience in Indonesian football.

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has sent the provisional schedule for Liga 1 2024/2025 to each club. Persib Bandung will kick off the competition. As the defending champions, Persib will host Liga 2 champions PSBS Biak on August 9, 2024, at Stadion Si Jalak Harupat (SJH), Soreang, Bandung Regency. Persib will return to SJH for the second week of Liga 1, where they will face Dewa United on August 19, 2024. Dewa United will have to be the traveling team for Liga 1 next season due to the Indomilk Arena in Tangerang being under renovation by the government. On September 23, 2024, Persib will have a big match against Persija Jakarta in the sixth week, to be played at SJH. From the eighth week onwards, Persib will no longer play at SJH for Liga 1, as they will move to Stadion Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA), which is currently under renovation. In the early season transfer market, Persib has not been very aggressive. Maung Bandung has only signed Mateo Kocijan, while Tyronne del Pino, Robi Darwis, Eriyanto, and Satrio Azhar have returned from loan spells. Additionally, Persib has released three players: Fitrul Dwi Rustapa to Bali United, Arsan Makarin to PSPS Pekanbaru, and Alberto Rodriguez to Mohun Bagan SG in India.

PSIS Semarang will play against Persita Tangerang in Week 1 of the BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 at Stadion Moch. Soebroto on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The match is scheduled to start at 15:30 WIB and will be broadcast live on Vidio. PSIS Semarang won their last pre-season match 4-0 against Persekat Tegal, with Fernandinho scoring twice. It’s worth noting that Persekat Tegal is a Liga 2 team, which might not present a strong challenge. Persita Tangerang, on the other hand, won their final pre-season match 2-1 against PSS Sleman, with Ryuji Utomo scoring. Under coach Fabio Lefundes, Persita appears well-prepared for the new season. In the 2023/2024 season, PSIS and Persita each won one match. Persita defeated PSIS 2-0 at home, while PSIS won 4-0 in their own stadium. Will PSIS be able to avoid another home defeat this season?
