Line-up
Turn Back, the band’s third studio album is an ode to the classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful effort with a harder edge. Its edgier sound was indicative of the maturation of group and included drummer Bobby Kimball’s greater virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich’s keyboard playing was also sharper, more complex and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band’s Amsterdam live performance that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released a new studio album just a few months after and then embarked on a world tour promote the album. By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity.
