Success Rate
The process of upgrading an item is based on chance. Like any random system, there is a possibility that it won’t work. There are several methods to increase your odds of success. These include the use of an item dubbed an Upgrade Pity or the addition of extra items to the upgrade.
The Upgrade Pity can be bought from the NPC for smithing in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of an upgrade being successful by a certain percentage.
